Bark x spongebob squarepants
BARK’s toy subscription boxes, BarkBox and Super Chewer, collaborated with SpongeBob SquarePants to create unique toys that both dogs and their owners get to enjoy. As a lifelong SpongeBob SquarePants fan, I have to say that getting to work on this campaign was a dream come true.
Although we had strict licensing guidelines for artwork, we used elements from the iconic TV show to convey dogs playing in the underwater world of SpongeBob SquarePants. Thanks to the extremely talented toy designers, all of the famous faces and places from Bikini Bottom were easily recognized by those who loved the show when they were young. The target customers for this partnership box are at a magical crossroads where they most likely watched and loved the show when they were younger, but are now at an age where they have the expendible money to spend on their pets even for the sake of nostalgia.
As the Art Director on these partnership boxes I was tasked with casting dogs for our studio and UGC photoshoots and directing the look and feel of the photography as well as the overall campaign. Once we had our photography, I led a team of designers to create an arsenal of assets for the many digital channels that BARK utilizes to reach its existing and potential customers.
Within this partnership we had multiple promotional deals for each of the box brands, BarkBox and Super Chewer. Each promo required a slue of assets for paid social, email, website, and affilliate ads. The various promos ran throughout the month of March 2023 with the first one, “Double Deluxe”, being the most popular among the customers.
